This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the CoProof Open Platform, website, APIs, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By using our Services, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not access or use the Services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1. Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect your username, email address, display name, and encrypted password. If you represent an organization, we may also collect your company name and business contact details.

2.2. API Usage Data: We automatically collect information about your use of our APIs, including request timestamps, endpoints accessed, response codes, latency metrics, IP addresses, and API Key identifiers.

2.3. Content Data: We store the information units, relations, and other content you submit to the Platform through our APIs as part of the core service functionality.

2.4. Device and Browser Information: When you access our web-based interfaces, we may collect browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and screen resolution for analytics and service improvement purposes.

2.5. Cookies and Tracking: We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how our Services are used. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: (a) provide, maintain, and improve the Services; (b) authenticate your identity and manage your account; (c) monitor API usage and enforce rate limits; (d) detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; (e) communicate with you about service updates, technical notices, and support; (f) generate aggregated, anonymized analytics to improve our platform; (g) comply with legal obligations.

5.2. API Keys are stored using one-way hashing. Passwords are encrypted using bcrypt with appropriate salt rounds.

5.3. While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

6.1. We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services.

6.2. API usage logs are retained for 90 days for operational purposes and up to 12 months for aggregated analytics.

6.3. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: (a) access the personal information we hold about you; (b) request correction of inaccurate information; (c) request deletion of your personal information; (d) object to or restrict certain processing activities; (e) data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format; (f) withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
